here’s my shot at “say goodbye” by sanctus real , from their “fight the tide”
album . the strum pattern is pretty weird , so i’m not bothering with that .
their guitar is tuned to D standard ( not drop D ) , so it won’t sound right
if your guitar is in E standard tuning . a lot of hammer – ons and pull – offs
on the D string on the 2nd fret . the chord – change timing varies in the intro
and verses , as well . first half of intro , chord changes happen on about the
first and fourth beats; second half of intro , chord changes happen on first
and third beats . listen to the song and i think you’ll catch it .

four harmonic plucks on 5th fret , then :
