Chords Banjo Paterson - Waltzing Matilda
Lyrics Banjo Paterson - Waltzing Matilda
this is my first tab . this is not how the song was originally written , but
it sounds better to my ears . the original only had the chords C , F and G ,
but i like to add an Am and an E every now and again . this is played best
with a capo on the 3rd fret or the 8th fret , but it still sounds good
enough with no capo at all . it also sounds really nice when you fingerpick
it .
C G Am F
once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong ,
C F G
under the shade of a coolibah tree ,
Am E F C
and he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled ,
C F G
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me .
C F G
waltzing matilda , waltzing matilda ,
C F G
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me ,
Am E F C
and he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled ,
C F G
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me .
( this chord sequence is the same the whole way through )
down came a jumbuck to drink at that billabong
up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee ,
and he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me .
waltzing matilda , waltzing matilda ,
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me ,
and he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
up rode the squatter mounted on his thorough – bred
down came the troopers one two three
whose that jolly jumbuck you’ve got in your tucker bag
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me .
waltzing matilda waltzing matilda
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me
whose that jolly jumbuck you’ve got in your tucker – bag
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
up jumped the swagman sprang in to the billabong
you’ll never catch me alive said he ,
and his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me .
waltzing matilda waltzing matilda
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me
and his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong
you’ll come a waltzing matilda with me .
